WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling offers you a confidential space to talk about your problems with a person who is in a impartial position and is skilled in helping people to find their own solutions to problems.People often come to see me after trying to find solutions to situations in a number of ways and when they have found they can't find an answer consider counselling. Counsellors have training to help you gain further insight into situations and consider other ways to overcome your difficulties.
The difference between talking to a counsellor as opposed to a friend or relative is that the counsellor will not have any knowledge of the people in your life and will not be judgemental of either you of others. The only person the counsellor will know is you and as such will be invested in what is right for you.
I am trained in a supporting people in resolving a wide range of issues and will use my skills to help you find solutions or positive ways to move forward with your situation.
There are a number of different types of counselling, the most popular type of counselling talked about in press at the moment is something called CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Cognitive Behavioural Therapy This helps people look at their thought and behaviour patterns had provides a quick and effective way to feel better after a few sessions.
I also use Emotional Freedom Technique. This helps you to identify what stops you from changing. It helps to move the blocks and enable you to achieve what you want for your self. It is quick and effective for both physical and emotional problems.
I both work long and short term with clients and in the first session we discuss what you want from counselling and I will be able to outline how we can work together to achieve this.
